On November 5, representatives of teachers and students of Henan University (HENU) were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the 19th International Comic Conference and the award ceremony of the First “Tadpole” Animation Achievement Collection Event. The ceremonies were attended by Meixia Fan from the Publicity Department of HENU, Lixia Ma, deputy dean of the School of Fine Arts, Na Ni, deputy director of the Animation Department of the School of Fine Arts, as well as relevant professional teachers and award-winning student representatives.
The First “Tadpole” Animation Achievement Collection Event was held under the theme of “Longing and Heading Together for the Future”. The competition was divided into the Teacher Group, the College Student Group, and the Industry-University-Research Group. In each group, the first prize, the second prize, the third prize, and excellence awards were selected in cartoons, comics, mascots, and animation scripts.
HENU has attached great importance to the collection event and encouraged teachers and students to join in. HENU was granted the Organizational Award. More than 40 students from the School of Fine Arts won over 20 prizes in this collection event, including a number of first prizes. Specifically, they won a total of 13 first prizes, 8 second prizes and 5 third prizes.
It is reported that the International Comic Conference is the largest-scale and most influential event for international comics in the world, known as the “Olympics” of the global comics industry. Cartoonists from more than 30 countries and regions, such as Japan, South Korea, the United States, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Belgium, participated in the exhibition.
