On the morning of August 9, a seminar for international teachers and students was held by the School of Life Sciences. The seminar was attended by leaders from the International School for Chinese Language and Culture, the International Affairs Office and the School of Life Sciences, as well as representatives of international student tutors, foreign postdoctoral fellows and representatives of international students, and was chaired by Zhifang Li, vice dean of the school.

At the seminar, Jianwei Wu, secretary of the Party Committee of the School, addressed his speech. He indicated that the school attached great importance to the education of international students and their campus life. He pointed out that this conference was to learn about the studying and living situation of international students and foreign postdoctoral fellows, and to seek suggestions on the construction of an international curriculum system.

Xiuhua Liu, dean of the International School for Chinese Language and Culture, said that Henan University has been working to build a higher education brand "Study in Henan University". She expressed that the International School for Chinese Language and Culture would continue to strengthen communication and exchanges with all training units, to improve the student source structure, to standardize management system and to enhance service awareness so as to help the University reach the international standard.

At the meeting, the international students had an active discussion about problems they encountered in their study and life, and shared their thoughts and suggestions on the management of international students. The teachers listened carefully and answered the questions raised by each international student.

This symposium deepened the international students' understanding of teaching, management and service of Chinese and foreign students in Henan University, sorted out the points of each training link, and clarified the requirements for the degree awarding. At the meeting, the improved system and mechanism was put forward, under which young teachers with overseas study backgrounds and foreign postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to undertake teaching tasks; all-English and bilingual core course groups for biology are established. This seminar made clear the online teaching system for overseas professors, which requires teachers to integrate the latest scientific research results into courses and to share international high-quality teaching resources to create teaching resources with international standard.

Then, Gang Wang, executive dean of the school, summed up the reforms the school has made in the education of international students in the past six years. He said that the school would use high-quality resources at home and abroad to cultivate a group of biology talents with international perspectives to help advance the education brand "study in Henan University".
