The 2022 Henan University Commencement for 2022 Postgraduate Students was held in Jinming Campus on the morning of July 5. The graduation ceremony was attended by school leaders, members of the degree committee of HENU, teacher representatives, graduate counselors and graduate representatives.

At the ceremony, Baoming Zhang, deputy secretary of HENU party committee, read out the Decisions on Commending Outstanding Graduates of Henan Province in 2022 by the Education Department of Henan Province, the Decisions on Commending Outstanding Postgraduate Graduates in 2022 by HENU, and the Decisions on Commending the Class of 2022 for Outstanding Graduates, Graduate Management and Graduate Scholarship Winners. Vice President Zhen Tan announced the Decisions of HENU on Granting Doctoral and Master's Degrees to Graduates.

Academician Suojiang Zhang, President of HENU, awarded the doctorate and master's degree to the graduates one after another.

Then Bing Yan, the representative of graduates from the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and Yongkang Wei, the representative of postgraduate students from the Faculty of Education, delivered their speeches to express gratitude and blessings to the University, and showed expectations for the future. Qiang Wang, the representative of the postgraduate tutors from the School of Life Sciences, indicated that students should have a dream and pursue their dreams in a determining way.

Suojiang Zhang gave a speech themed “Being Creative and Create a Bright Future”. In the speech, he first extended warm congratulations to 2022 postgraduate students. Then, he suggested that graduates should well perform the spirit of HENU to contribute to people’s wellness and human development; meet the challenges brought by technological revolution and industrial change, and try to be new forces in the technological innovation and the reform of technological systems. At the same time, they shall hold independent thinking, improve personal quality and nurture enthusiasm in innovation to spread the spirit of science.
