The Demonstration Conference for Technology for Simulating Ecological Water Consumption of Plants in Yellow River Beach Area was held on the experimental field at Henan University (HENU) on May 28, both online and offline, with 1 main venue and 5 branch venues. At the conference 110 experts and scholars were invited from universities and institutes, such as Peking University, Tianjin University, Sun Yat-Sen University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research. Among them, Zhen Tan vice president and Gang Wang, executive dean of the School of Life Sciences, delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Binbin Hu, president of the Academy of Science and Technology.

Professor Shijie Han demonstrated the technology to simulate ecological water consumption of the plants in the Yellow River beach area, whose applications were discussed by other experts and scholars.

Experts considered this simulation technology, developed by Shijie Han’s group, an advanced product and praised it as an innovative technical method for science-based expression of the condition of atmosphere, plant, soil and water. They highlighted its importance in assisting ecological protection in the Yellow River Basin, and believed that it would have a brighter market prospect.

Hosted by the School of Life Sciences of HENU and organized by Henan International Joint Research Laboratory of Global Change Ecology, Henan Yellow River Floodplain Ecosystems Research Station, and Xi'an Esheng Taihe Ctrl Tech, this conference is a national high-level academic seminar and also one of the series of academic activities for the 110^th anniversary of HENU.
