The 24th China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Contest - HENU School Competition was held online on the morning of May 15. In the contest 49 groups of students from Henan University (HENU) and Zhengzhou University participated.
The Contest, hosted by the Academic Affairs Office and the Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center of HENU, and organized by the Eurasia International School of HENU and the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering of Zhengzhou University, composed of two main events - "Robot Innovation" and "Artificial Intelligence Innovation". Each event awarded 3 first prizes, 5 second prizes, and several third prizes and winners of which were given corresponding school-level certificates.
This contest invited three experts as judges, including Jun Xiao from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jie Zhu from Beijing Institute of Technology and Hongtao Wei from Zhengzhou University. They joined online, working together with experts from HENU, including Jianlin Wang from School of Computer and Information Engineering, and Jichun Zhu from Miami College to made comments on participants’ performances and gave valuable suggestions for teams to improve their products in the future.
Linlin Pei, a member of the team "Denim Defect Detection System Based on Deep Learning" from HENU, said: " Robots and artificial intelligence-based technologies are becoming major drivers in the new era. It is the first time for us to compete with students from other universities. Through this competition, we improve our projects in the field of artificial intelligence."
Yuhang Wang, a member of the team "Hanhai-Underwater Robot Based on Neural Network Recognition" from Zhengzhou University, said: "With the development of science and technology, robots have become more important in promoting industrial development. We hope we can help with development of the artificial intelligence and robots."
