From December 2nd to December 3rd, Henan University invited deans of colleges and directors of scientific research institutions in charge of foreign affairs to participate in the "Online Lecture on World-class Construction and International Development of the University" given by Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Shenglei FU,Vice President of HENU, and Minghua YU, former Vice President of NTU, attended the opening ceremony, which was presided over by Liqun MAO, Director of the International Affairs Office.
At the lecture, Shenglei FU first expressed his gratitude to lecturers from NTU. He pointed out that all colleges and scientific research institutions should have stronger awareness of opening-up policies on the education in the new era, and actively carry out international cooperation according to the influence of the pandemic and the changing international situation on educational exchange and cooperation in order to accelerate the revitalization of HENU.
In his speech, Minghua YU owed the leapfrog development of NTU to the plan and practice in pursuing an international university. He showed his pleasure to be the lecturer and the wish for further cooperation and exchange with HENU.
Four reports were given in the class. Professor Minghua YU gave the speech, titled "the Internationalization Development Strategy of University — Experience of Nanyang Technological University"; Professor Zexiang SHEN, Associate Dean of the Interdisciplinary Graduate School, gave the report with the theme of "International Talent Cultivation, Industry-University-Research Combination and New Model of International Exchange in Post-pandemic Era"; Professor Xiaodong CHEN, Director of the Innovation Center for Flexible Device, addressed the topic of "Innovation-driven World-class Discipline Construction"; Professor Hong LIU, Dean of the Nanyang Graduate School of Public Administration, addressed the topic of "Discipline Construction and College Management", which introduced the current situation of NTU, the plan for the development as an international school in the post-pandemic era, the understanding of first-class disciplines, and the educational development strategy of NTU. At the lecture, the trainees listened carefully and had in-depth exchanges with lecturers on talent training, teacher professional development, scientific research and social service.
