Recently, under the leadership of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and The People’s Government of Henan Province, Henan University (HENU) signed an agreement with the Chinese Academy of History (CAH) on jointly constructing the Research Institute for Yellow River Culture.

Guided by CAH and HENU, the Institute will give full play to the advantages of the disciplines and platforms to develop research, through the joint efforts with other relevant units in Yellow River Basin. Driven by innovative mechanism, the institute, centering on major issues, will move forward by conducting joint projects related to some aspects of Yellow River culture, that is, the connotation of Yellow River culture, the protection of its heritage, the exploration of cultural resources, and its promotion. It aims to produce academic achievements that are distinct and significant, by developing cooperation in cultivating talents, platform construction, academic exchanges and resources sharing, thus making the Yellow River culture more attractive, influential and charming in all fronts. The Institute will be an influential academic highland on the Yellow River culture, an innovation center and a national think tank, serving the planning and implementation of major national strategies for ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.
