From April 24 to 26, the 8th Chinese Chemical Society National Symposium on Polyacid Chemistry was held in HENU. The symposium was sponsored by Chinese Chemical Society and HENU, and organized by School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of HENU, Henan Key Laboratory of Polyacid Chemistry and Henan Chemical Society. Academician Hong Maochun served as chairman of the meeting and director of the academic committee, and academician Zhang suojiang served as vice chairman of the meeting. Song Chun-Peng, President of HENU, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. And the opening ceremony was presided over by Niu Jingyang, chairman of Henan Chemical Society and director of Henan Key Laboratory of Polyacid Chemistry.

Over 500 delegates attended the symposium, including academician Xie Yi of University of Science and Technology of China, academician Li Yuliang, of Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chen Rong, former director of the first division of the Chemical Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Zuo Jinglin, director of the Inorganic Chemistry Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, Zuo Jinglin, professor of Nanjing University, and Fu Honggang, President of Heilongjiang University.

Focusing on the development trends of polyacid synthetic chemistry, polyacid functional materials, polyacid catalytic chemistry and other fields, the delegates comprehensively displayed the latest research progress and achievements in China in recent three years through conference reports, theme reports, invitation reports and other forms, and deeply discussed the opportunities, challenges and future development direction of polyacid chemistry.
