
On the morning of June 16, a five-member delegation led by Kubanychbek Zhumaliev, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyz Republic, visited Henan University (HENU). Vice President Zhang Ligang received the guests, accompanied by heads from the International Affairs Office, the Medical School, the School of Stomatology, and other relevant departments. The meeting was chaired by Li Qiuye, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office.
Zhang Ligang presented HENU’s recent developments and achievements, emphasizing the strategic significance of enhancing international education collaboration within the framework of the “Double First-Class” initiative. He stated that HENU is steadfastly advancing toward its goal of becoming a “first-class research-intensive, comprehensive, and internationally renowned university”, with the century-old prestigious institution’s revitalization entering a new phase. Noting the distinctive strengths of the International Medical University (IMU) of Kyrgyzstan (IMU Kyrgyzstan), Zhang highlighted substantial potential for bilateral research cooperation.
Kubanychbek Zhumaliev expressed his gratitude to HENU and introduced the basic situation of the IMU Kyrgyzstan. He affirmed IMU Kyrgyzstan’s enduring commitment to advancing global educational partnerships and proposed joint exploration of innovative models in cooperative education, talent cultivation, and scientific collaboration with HENU.
Both institutions outlined their medical education frameworks and engaged in detailed discussions regarding disciplinary alignment, degree recognition, academic systems, joint teaching programs, and exchanges between teachers, students, and scholars, reaching several consensuses. This cooperation and exchange aim to further refine the cooperation in joint education between the two universities, jointly promote their high-quality development, and enhance the level of open education.
