"Great River and Profound Earth" - Exhibition of Chinese Paintings by Zhongyi Ding opens at the National Art Museum of China


On the afternoon of August 4, Exhibition of Chinese Paintings by Zhongyi Ding was grandly opened at the National Art Museum of China.


The opening ceremony was attended and addressed by Lixin Zhang, Vice President of Henan University, Qixiong Fang, Party Secretary of Henan Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Guoqiang Ma and Guohui Liu, Vice Presidents of the Chinese Painting Society, and Weiquan Xi, Dean of the Fine Arts College of Henan University. Attending guests congratulated the holding of the Exhibition, and pointed out that Zhongyi Ding, taught at Henan University for more than 50 years, trained a large number of art talents, had made outstanding contributions to the development of the Henan art industry and higher art education. The Exhibition gathered the masterpiece works by Zhongyi Ding over the years, which attracted experts and scholars who came for appreciation and exchange. That will have an important and far-reaching impact on artistic creation and art education.


The opening ceremony also invited many other guests, including Jiaying He, Vice Chairman of the China Artists Association, Yuanyuan An, Secretary of the Party Committee of the National Art Museum of China, Ke Sun and Xilin Liu who are famous art theorists, as well as leaders and experts of China Artists Association, China National Academy of Painting, Beijing Fine Art Academy, Henan Artists Association, Tsinghua University, Central Academy of Fine Arts, and Capital Normal University. At the academic seminar, experts conducted in-depth discussions on the artistic style, creative spirit, artistic value and current significance of the Chinese paintings of Ding.


Zhongyi Ding was the in first group of students of the Chinese Painting Department of the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (known as the China Academy of Art now). He took root in Henan after graduating in 1960. His works were exhibited in the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 12th National Art Exhibitions, among which Mr. Xu GuQingteng Shanren Xu Wei and Bada Shanren were recognized classical works in the memory of countless artists.
