Teachers and students of HENU win 6 gold medals in the 9th World Kung Fu Championship


From August 23 to 28, the 9th World Kung Fu Championship was held in Emeishan City, Sichuan. Sponsored by the International Wushu Federation and the Chinese Wushu Association, it is the world's top event with the highest standards of traditional martial arts.


In this competition, Shuai Cao, a teacher from Wushu College of HENU, joined in the Shaolin Boxing and Shaolin Knife competitions on behalf of China and won a gold medal for the Boxing and a silver medal for the Knife. HENU's martial arts team participated in the Intelligent Long and Short Weapon Combat Competition (University Group) of the 9th World Kung Fu Championships. They won 5 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals after competing with dozens of universities across the country. In the short weapon individual competition, Bingwei Wu won the men's 84kg category championship, Xu Huang won the women's 69kg category championship, and Lele Wang won the women's 74kg category championship. In the long weapon individual competition, Qilin Zhang won the women's 64kg category championship, and Xu Huang won the women's 69kg category championship.
