From July 6 to July 9, the 14^th Henan Provincial Games - Martial Arts Competition (Students) & the 18^th Henan Provincial Student Martial Arts Competition was held in HENU. On the morning of July 6, the opening ceremony was held at the Minglun Campus. It was attended by Yuchen Miao, vice president of HENU and director of the HENU Sports Committee, Shizhong Nie, director of the Department of Sports, Health and Art of the Department of Education of Henan Province, and relevant leaders. At the ceremony, Yuchen Miao and Shizhong Nie delivered speeches successively, and then Kun Zhao and Jiehui Yan took the oath on behalf of referees and athletes.

The Competitions attracted a total of 417 athletes in 53 groups across Henan province. They competed in 107 items of 7 categories and were finally selected out a total of 110 gold medal winners. After 4 days of competition, the HENU team won the first place with a total score of 393 points, and the Excellent Organization Award, the Outstanding Contribution Award and the Sportsmanship Award.
