On July 10, the unveiling ceremony of the fourth and fifth batch of Henan provincial laboratories and the Henan Institute of Flexible Electronics Technology was held in Zhengzhou. The ceremony was attended by the Governor Kai Wang, Zhen Tan, Vice President of HENU, and Yangsheng Lou, Secretary of the Henan CPC Provincial Committee, who also delivered a speech. Up to now, HENU has took the lead in building 3 provincial laboratories (research institutes) in Henan, showing remarkable results in the construction of high-level scientific and technological innovation platforms.

At the ceremony, Yangsheng Lou unveiled the plaques of 6 provincial laboratories and the Henan Institute of Flexible Electronics Technology. Later, Shengcai Lin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the Zhongzhou Laboratory, and Wei Huang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the Henan Institute of Flexible Electronics Technology, respectively introduced the general situation and development concept of the Laboratory and the Institute.

Yangsheng Lou pointed out that the establishment of the fourth and fifth batches of provincial laboratories and the Henan Institute of Flexible Electronics Technology marked another substantial step in accelerating the construction of a national innovation center and an important talent center in Henan. He hoped that provincial laboratories and the Henan Institute of Flexible Electronics Technology would speed up high-quality construction, build first-class platforms, attract outstanding talents, and produce remarkable results.

Led by HENU, the construction of the Zhongzhou Laboratory was taken part in by 6 enterprises in the biological field in Henan and supported by the municipal governments of Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, and Pingdingshan. To meet the needs of the cutting-edge biology and the national major strategy for economic development, the Laboratory aims to develop drug design and biological intelligence as well as other new technology and methods in life sciences relying on the first-class discipline of biology of HENU with a focus on several fields, including the regulation and health of biological metabolism homeostasis, to promote a high-quality development of the modern bio-industry.

The Henan Institute of Flexible Electronics Technology is built by universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises in the Henan, led by HENU and supported by the municipal governments of Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Kaifeng and Xinxiang. To meet the needs of the cutting-edge technology and industry in the field of advanced materials and flexible electronics, the Institute focuses on building a flexible electronics technology R&D center and an industrial cluster in the fields of advanced materials, bioelectronics, and intelligent electronics so as to promote  a high-quality development of advanced materials and flexible electronics industries in Henan.
