From April 24 to 29, the Wushu Routine and Wushu Sanda Competition of the 31^st FISU World University Games (Summer) was held in Tianjin. It attracted more than 100 athletes in 24 teams from China's universities, including Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Zhejiang University and Tianjin University of Technology.

Wenlong Liu from HENU won the championship in the 73-kilogram category of Wushu Sanda competition. In addition, Xingyu Huang, Ning Jiang and Danfeng Liu won the second place in the men's 70kg, men's 60kg and women's 60kg categories. Through fierce competition, Wenlong Liu from HENU and Feng He from Chengdu Sport University were selected to join in the Wushu Sanda competition of the 31^st FISU World University Games (Summer) on behalf of China.
