From April 8 to 9, the 9^th China Statistics Annual Conference was held at the Zhengzhou Campus of HENU.

On April 8, the opening ceremony was held. It was attended by more than 500 experts and scholars, including Songqi Chen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor at Peking University, Dong Qiu, chair professor at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Shuxia Feng, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of HENU, Jianwu Wen, former chief engineer at the National Bureau of Statistics, Haiqi Lu, director of the Institute of Statistical Science of the National Bureau of Statistics, Xianchun Xu, researcher at the National School of Development of Peking University, Wuyi Zeng, professor at Xiamen University, Hongye Xiao, distinguished professor at HENU, Zhi Geng, professor at Beijing Technology and Business University, Jinchang Li, secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics, Yanyun Zhao, professor at Renmin University of China, and Xiangzhong Fang, professor at Peking University. At the opening ceremony, Shuxia Feng and Haiqi Lu delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Bingtao Song, dean of the School of Economics.

China Statistics Annual Conference is a national conference for academic exchange in statistics, held every two years. The Conference was held themed on "Statistical Theory and Methods in the Context of National Governance Modernization", mainly discussing the innovation in statistical theory and technology in Chinese-style modernization. The Conference invited 14 famous statistical experts and scholars to give invited reports, with some titled "Exploration of Real Chain and Construction of Contemporary National Potential", "Challenges Brought by Digital Economy Development to Government Statistics", and "High Spatial-Time Resolving Economic Statistics Data Sets and Numerical Models and Their Significance".

The Conference included 14 parallel sub-venues, 28 group reports, and the teaching and research conference reports. The Conference mainly talked about the "Statistical Research on the Modernization of National Governance System and Governance Capacity", the "Research on Statistical Theory and Methods under the Background of Artificial Intelligence", and the "Research on Mathematical Statistics Theory and Methods". At the Conference, statistics experts and scholars from more than 100 universities shared their latest research results and conducted academic discussions with each other.
