From April 19 to 26, invited by the University of Turku and the University of Warwick, Keping Lu, secretary of the Party Committee of Henan University (HENU), went to the two universities for a friendly visit, accompanied by responsible personnel from the Laboratory and Equipment Management Office, the Faculty of Education, and the Eurasia International School.

At the University of Turku, Finland, Keping Lu and his entourage held talks with Kalle-Antti Suominen, vice president of the University of Turku, Kristiina Heikkil, dean of the School of Teacher Education, Professor Maarit Silven, Lecturer Johanna Kortessalo-Ainasoja, Ari Koski, director of Major Projects Office, and Janne Loikkanen, director of the International Exchange Office. Considering the pandemic, both sides held the meeting online and offline.

Kalle-Antti Suominen said that the preschool undergraduate program jointly run by the two Universities completed the first enrollment in 2022. It is hoped that this meeting could further deepen the cooperation and enhance the friendship between the two Universities.

Keping Lu hoped that the visit would further consolidate the existing cooperation, expand the cooperation and deepen the cooperation between the two Universities.

At the meeting, the two sides conducted discussions on the development of the cooperative program of preschool undergraduate major, the charter of the joint management committee, the teaching arrangement for the 2023-2024 academic year, the exchange of teachers and students, and the establishment of the China-Finland International Education Center.

At the University of Warwick, UK, Keping Lu and his entourage met with Sai Gu, vice president of the University, Victoria Strudwick, director of the Office of International Partnerships, Chris Dowson, professor of the School of Life Sciences, Jihong Wang, professor of the School of Engineering, Lijiang Song, professor at the School of Chemistry, and Zushu Li, professor at the Department of Manufacturing.

At the meeting, Sai Gu said that the University of Warwick was full of expectations for the cooperation between the two Universities. It is hoped that both sides could take this meeting as an opportunity to cooperate in related disciplines.

Keping Lu pointed out that this visit would help establish academic contacts and carry out substantive cooperation. He indicated that he would provide assistance for the University of Warwick to settle in Henan to carry out teaching and research activities.

At the meeting, both sides discussed the joint training of doctoral students, scientific and technological cooperation, and construction of joint research platforms.

During the visit, Keping Lu and his entourage held talks with local alumni and overseas Chinese, in which he publicized the talent introduction policy of HENU and discussed about starting the HENU British Alumni Association.
