On the morning of April 4, Sai Gu, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (China) at the University of Warwick, visited Henan University (HENU), accompanied by Jingxia Xue, Chairman of the Henan Conchid Education Technology Group, and Fei Ge, Deputy Director of the Zhengzhou Municipal Education Bureau. President Suojiang Zhang and Vice President Shenglei Fu from HENU met with guests at Youlan Complex, Zhengzhou Campus, accompanied by responsible personnel from the International Affairs Office and the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences. The meeting was presided over by Liqun Mao, director of the International Affairs Office.

At the meeting, Shenglei Fu first introduced the general situation of HENU. He expressed that the University of Warwick has been a world-class university in many disciplines for a long time. And HENU has become a "Double First-Class" university in China, showing strong development potential. He hoped that the visit of Sai Gu would promote mutual understanding and in-depth cooperation between the two universities so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results by coordinating advantageous resources.

Later, Sai Gu introduced the development and overall situation of the University of Warwick. He said the University of Warwick's motto - "Mens Agitat Molem" - striking similar to that of HENU - "To illustrate virtue, to enlighten people, and to pursue perfection". It was hoped that the two universities would cooperate in any possible form relying on advantageous disciplines, driven by the mottoes of both sides.

Fei Ge promised that Zhengzhou Municipal Education Bureau would fully support and promote the cooperation between the two universities. He wished that the two universities' joint efforts would bring fruitful results to provide technical support as well as talented personnel for the economic and social development of Zhengzhou and even Henan. Jingxia Xue indicated that the Henan Conchid Education Technology Group would continue to act as the bridge between the two universities, contributing to the development of higher education in Henan. Then, Yan Bai, dean of the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences, introduced the development of the College.

In the closing speech, Suojiang Zhang expressed his wishes that the two universities could establish a strategic partnership and promote technological innovation by jointly building a joint research platform, carrying out international technological cooperation and conducting joint doctoral training programs. It was hoped that both universities could establish international academic alliances and hold international academic events to promote exchanges and mutual learning, injecting new momentum into the construction of disciplines of both sides.

Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on the establishment of joint research platforms, the scientific and technological cooperation, and the joint doctoral training program.
