The National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences announced the list of the 2021 Chinese Academic Translation Projects of the National Social Science Fund on February 8^th. On the list saw two projects from Henan University, one guided by Professor Zequan Liu from the School of Foreign Languages, and the other by Doctor Yingmei Luo from the International Education College.

Professor Zequan Liu, a doctoral supervisor of the School of Foreign Languages and a provincial distinguished professor, guided the project “Origin of Chinese Civilization” which aims to translate The Origin of Chinese Civilization by Professor Jianye Han, the distinguished professor and Cheung Kong Scholar from Renmin University of China.

Doctor Yingmei Luo, a teacher of the International Education College, guided the project Strategy of a Major Country--Review and Prospect of Population Policy in China jointly applied by Fujian People's Publishing House and attempting to translate The Strategy of a Major Country--Review and Prospect of Population Policy in China by Xueyuan Tian, a demographer and a member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

The National Social Science Fund for The Chinese Academic Translation Project was provided  to support excellent academic works that showcase China's academic standards, the top-tier academic achievements and reflects the essence of Chinese culture in China. It aims to encourage mutual academic communications and exchanges through which Chinese philosophy and social sciences could be introduced then increasingly understood by international peers.

In 2021, Henan University applied for fund for five Chinese academic translation projects in total; out of which, two were approved of in the same year.
