
On October 26, the inaugural Kunyu Forum of the First State Key Laboratory of Spatial Datum was successfully held at Henan University (HENU)’s Longzihu Campus in Zhengzhou. Under the theme “Intelligent Services and Innovative Applications of Spatial Datum”, the forum brought together over 100 experts and scholars from universities and research institutions across China, including Academician WANG Jiayao and Academician GUO Renzhong of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Academician DANG Yamin of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences.
At the opening ceremony, BAI Ying, Vice President of HENU, delivered a speech introducing HENU’s initiatives to build a world-class institution and emphasizing the laboratory’s significant role in HENU’s development. Shan Xinmin, Director of the Laboratory and Platform Base Construction Division of the Department of Science and Technology of Henan Province, highlighted that as a national strategic scientific and technological force, the State Key Laboratory should focus on national strategies and regional demands to drive original innovations and breakthroughs in key technologies.
The forum featured invited reports from several renowned scholars on cutting-edge research areas such as geographic information science, sky radiance benchmark, high-precision global satellite laser control, and marine spatial datum. Collectively, they highlighted the latest advancements in the field of spatial datum.
The Kunyu Forum is a high-level academic exchange platform established by the laboratory. In the future, the laboratory will continue to align with national strategies and contribute benchmark strengths to promote technological innovation in related fields.
