Maxim Bondarev, Vice-Rector of Southern Federal University, Russia (SFEDU) Pays Visit to HENU

On November 3, a delegation led by Maxim Bondarev, Vice President of Southern Federal University, Russia (SFEDU), visited Henan University (HENU). ZHANG Ligang, Vice President of HENU, met with the delegation at the Auditorium in Minglun Campus and jointly attended a collaboration meeting. The meeting was attended by heads of the International Affairs Office, the College of Fine Arts, the Eurasia International School, and other relevant units. It was presided over by LI Qiuye, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office.

ZHANG Ligang welcomed the delegation’s return visit and reviewed the achievements already made by the two universities in areas such as faculty and student exchanges and academic collaboration. He stated that as HENU advances toward building a research-oriented, comprehensive, and internationally recognized first-class university, he hopes to further upgrade the cooperation model with Southern Federal University, broaden the scope of collaboration, and jointly open a new chapter in the partnership between the two institutions.

Maxim Bondarev fully affirmed the positive outcomes of the cooperation between the two sides, particularly evident in the competition performance of jointly cultivated students. He introduced Southern Federal University’s strengths in science and engineering disciplines and international education. He further expressed his hope that both sides would continue deepening their cooperation and achieve more substantive outcomes.

The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as talent cultivation, faculty and student exchanges, and scientific research collaboration, reaching consensus in several areas.


Southern Federal University, located in Rostov-on-Don, is a key higher education institution in southern Russia, with notable strengths in disciplines such as physics, mathematics, and architecture. Since establishing a cooperative relationship with HENU in 2012, the two institutions have carried out joint programs in fields including Russian language, environmental art design, and visual communication design. Through joint curriculum development and faculty and student exchanges, they have continuously promoted talent cultivation and educational cooperation.
