Professor SONG Chunpeng, born in January 1962, male, Han nationality from Minquan county of Henan Province, is a member of DPP and a doctoral supervisor with a doctorate in science. He was assigned to the post of Vice President of Henan University in May 2006. In September 2017, Professor SONG Chunpeng was appointed as President of Henan University. He is a member of the Eleventh and Twelfth National Committee of the CPPCC.

Now Professor SONG Chunpeng serves as Vice Chairman of Chinese Society for Plant Biology and Chinese Society for Cell Biology, Deputy Director of the Steering Committee on Biology Teaching of the Ministry of Education and Editorial board member of a famous periodical New Phytologist. He has got research funding from National Outstanding Youth Fund and National Key Basic Research Development Plan (“973” Plan, as a chief scientist) and other projects. He has long been engaged in studying of adverse factors in stress biology, such as drought, with getting the second prize of National Natural Science Award and Henan Sci-Tech Outstanding Contribution Award.
