On August 30th, the establishment ceremony of the HENU OpenHarmony Technology Club was held at the Youlan Academy on the Zhengzhou campus. Ji Bo, Party Secretary of HENU, Vice President Xue Bo, and Chen Haibo, Chairman of the OpenHarmony Project Technical Steering Committee, attended the ceremony. Experts from the OpenHarmony Project Technical Steering Committee, officials from the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Henan Province, the Henan Provincial Bureau of State Secrecy, and relevant departments of HENU participated in the event. More than 150 representatives of faculty and students from colleges and universities in Henan Province attended the conference. The event was hosted by Chang Jikai, Party Secretary of the School of Software.
In his speech, Ji Bo stated that the establishment of Henan Province’s first OpenHarmony Technology Club by HENU would promote development in talent cultivation, scientific research exploration, and achievement transformation. Relying on the expert resources of the OpenHarmony Technology Club, HENU will delve into solving technical challenges, enhance the integration of industry and education, strengthen the discipline of information science, and cultivate more outstanding talents.
Chen Haibo, Chairman of the OpenHarmony Project Technical Steering Committee and Huawei Fellow, stated that operating systems are at the core of the information industry and vital to the digital economy. Intelligent terminal systems form the foundation of industrial chains and ecosystems. He expressed his hope that the OpenHarmony platform can leverage the support of faculty and students from HENU, inherit the spirit of perseverance and self-improvement, move towards the era of ubiquitous connectivity, and provide opportunities to surpass traditional systems and achieve leapfrog development, thereby contributing to national technological innovation and talent cultivation in the long term.
Gan Yong, President of the Research Association of Computer Education in Colleges and Universities of Henan Province, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Yu Junyang, Vice Dean of the School of Software, introduced the construction ideas and plans for the club.
Ji Bo and Chen Haibo jointly unveiled the HENU OpenHarmony Technology Club. Chen Haibo presented a plaque to HENU School of Software.
After the unveiling ceremony, Chen Haibo delivered a technical report titled Industry-Academia-Research Collaborative Operating System Research and OpenHarmony Practice to the attending faculty and students. Zang Binyu, a member of the OpenHarmony Project Technical Steering Committee and a special guest, presented a technical report titled Personal Data Processing and Protection Based on OpenTrustee and Large Models.
On the same day, the HENU OpenHarmony Technology Club held its first exchange forum. Liu Guo, Deputy Director of the Secretariat of the OpenHarmony Project Technical Steering Committee, and Liu Junjie, the Programming Language TSG Representative, introduced the architecture, features, and market positioning of OpenHarmony to the attending faculty and students, and shared the progress and achievements of the community in technological innovation and ecosystem development.
OpenHarmony is an open-source project incubated and operated by the OpenAtom Foundation. To date, the OpenHarmony community has established “OpenHarmony Technology Clubs or Developer Associations” in collaboration with over 30 leading domestic universities.
