HENU students win three gold medals in the World Wushu Championships


From November 16 to 20, the 16th World Wushu Championships was held in Texas, USA. The students from HENU, including Wenlong Liu, Danfeng Liu and graduate Mengyue Chen, participated in the competition on behalf of China and won three gold medals in the sanda category.


The World Wushu Championships is held every two years. The 16th World Wushu Championships organized competitions of Wushu routine and Sanda, attracting a total of about 600 participants from 52 countries and regions. Wenlong Liu, Danfeng Liu and Mengyue Chen did great in the men’s 80kg, women’s 56kg and women’s 52kg competitions, winning their gold medals for the Chinese team. Finally, the Chinese team topped the medal list with 15 gold medals.
