The Symposium on Inorganic Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in Central and Western China 2023 of the Chinese Chemical Society is held


From October 21 to 24, the Symposium on Inorganic Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in Central and Western China 2023 of the Chinese Chemical Society was held at the Zhongzhou International Hotel in Kaifeng. The Symposium was attended by Chunhua Yan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yi Xie, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shuhong Yu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xianhe Bu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Rong Chen, former director of the Division I of the Department of Chemistry of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as experts and scholars from all over the country engaged in inorganic chemistry and chemical engineering, and teachers and students of the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences.


At the symposium, Keping Lu welcomed the experts, scholars, leaders and guests from all walks of life and introduced the development and current situation of Henan University (HENU). He hoped that this symposium could be essential in promoting the development of chemistry and relevant disciplines at HENU.


Academician Chunhua Yan introduced this conference's context and its role in promoting relevant scientific development. He expressed his wish that the scholars at the symposium shared reports and perspectives on the cross-integration of multiple disciplines and fields.


Academician Shuhong Yu, deputy director of the Inorganic Chemistry Discipline Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, said that the symposium showed original research results in inorganic chemistry and relevant fields, enhanced exchanges and cooperation among chemists, and promoted technological development in this field.


Yongming Chen, dean of the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences, introduced the development and current situation of the College. He expressed his wish that the participants could share valuable opinions about the development of HENU while conducting academic exchanges to promote the progress of the chemistry discipline.


This symposium was chaired by Academician Chunhua Yan and Academician Suojiang Zhang and attracted a total of nearly 500 people, including scientists, young and middle-aged scholars, and graduate students from nearly 100 universities and research institutions in China. The symposium offered 9 conference reports, 40 theme reports, 66 invited reports, and more than 20 oral reports. Representatives attending the symposium shared the latest results in recent years in academic research, teaching research and reform of inorganic chemistry, chemical engineering and relevant interdisciplinary subjects.
