The Carbon Neutrality Industry College of Henan University was approved to be a provincial special college in Henan, according to Notice on Project Construction Units of Provincial Special Industry Colleges (YJG [2022] No. 122) released by 15 departments including the Education Department of Henan Province.

The Carbon Neutrality Industry College of Henan University mainly carries out talent training, and base and platform construction relying on the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. It works with co-construction units in developing talent training programs and professional courses concerning peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality in order to meet the demand for professional and technical talents in the fields of green low-carbon technology and smart energy dual-carbon management. It adopts a talent training model that combines on-campus practical teaching and corporate internship training in combination with the needs of local industries for technical talents. The College will cooperate with partner enterprises, such as Henan Energy Group Co., Ltd and SinoCarbon Innovation & Investment, in conducting collaborative innovation around industry generic technologies and key issues of industrial technology innovation, to promote the transformation and application of scientific research results, providing continuous comprehensive consulting services for government departments in terms of peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality.
