The Henan University (HNU)-Victoria University (VU) Program Joint Management Committee (JMC) met for the first time in 2022 on June 22. Present at the meeting were Shenglei Fu, Director of the JMC and Vice President of HENU, Liqun Mao, Director of the International Affairs Office, Senmiao Wei, Deputy Director of the Finance Office, and Xiaoyong Ma, Dean of the International Education College; John Germov, Associate Director of the JMC and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Higher Education) at VU; Farzad Khosrowshahi, Dean of the College of Engineering and Science at VU; Associate Prof Romana Garma, Dean of Business School at VU; and Ms Caryn Nery, Director of Transnational Education Partnerships at VU. Non-voting attendees include Wayne Butson, Dean of the College of English, Foundation and Pathways at VU, Raquel Licciardi, Director of Teaching and Learning, Partnerships and Innovation, Dianne McKeagney, VU English Director of Studies, George Yue, Transnational Education Program Manager (China) at VU; leaders and teachers from the School of Computer and Information Engineering, Business School, School of Economics and International Education College of HENU.
The meeting first considered and voted on the replacement of JMC members of VU, and also discussed the matters agreed but not completed at the JMC meeting in 2021. During the meeting, Shenglei Fu reported the "double first-class" construction of HENU from the aspects of the basic situation, construction measures and achievements, as well as the next step construction ideas.
Liqun Mao introduced on the implementation of "HENU 1530 Plan" and the preparations for HENU's 110th anniversary, Senmiao Wei briefed on the financial status, and Xiaoyong Ma presented the 2021 program evaluation and extension and the 2022 enrollment plan.
The VU provided an update on its five-year strategic plan and the progress of its ongoing projects as well as the results achieved by the students of the International Education College in Australia, and commended the administration and teaching personnel on both sides for their efforts.
Finally, the two sides discussed matters concerning the development of scientific research cooperation and teacher training, and determined the next step to be conduct thematic discussions on the feasibility of scientific research cooperation and teacher capacity enhancement.
