The "National Photosynthesis and Green Development Academic Seminar 2021 and Central Plains Young Scientists Forum" was held in Kaifeng in the morning of October 9. KUANG Tingyun, CAS Academician and a researcher of the Institute of Botany of CAS, ZHAO Jindong, CAS Academician and a professor of Peking University, WU Lizhu, CAS Academician and a researcher of the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry of CAS, SONG Chunpeng, President of Henan University, LI Li, Deputy Director of Office of Henan Talent Exchange Association and Second-level Counsel of the Organization Department of CPC Henan Provincial Committee, and ZHANG Cheng, Director of the Professional and Technical Personnel Management Division of the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Henan Province, attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by ZHANG Lixin, Vice President of Henan University.

This seminar was part of the 4th Talent Recruitment & Project Matchmaking Event for Innovation and Development in Henan, and it  was hosted by the Photosynthesis Committee of the Chinese Society for Plant Biology, the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Henan Province and Henan University, and was organized by Henan University School of Life Sciences, the State Key Laboratory of Crop Stress Adaptation and Improvement and the State Key Laboratory of Cotton Biology. It aimed to promote the exchanges and cooperation between researchers of photosynthesis and green development in China, and formed an academic platform to help the research of young scientists move forward in specific fields.

With the theme of "Photosynthesis and Green Development", the conference focused on the cutting-edge research of photosynthesis. Around the topics of "Structure, Function and Artificial Simulation of Photosynthetic Membrane Complex", "The Generation and Dynamic Regulation Photosynthetic Membrane Complex", "Photosynthetic Carbon Metabolism and Regulation", and "Photosynthetic Environment Regulation and High Luminous Efficiency of Crops", more than 40 academic speeches were made, covering the most cutting-edge areas of photosynthesis research so far and making the conference a high-level exchange event in the field of photosynthesis.
