On June 6^th, the graduation ceremony for the class of 2021 was held in front of the Grand Auditorium at Minglun Campus. All HENU leaders, heads of all functional departments and undergraduate teaching units, tutors and 2021 undergraduate valedictorians attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President LIU Zhijun.

ZHANG Baoming, Deputy Secretary of the Party committee of HENU, read out the "Decision of Henan Provincial Department of Education on commending excellent college and special school graduates in 2021" and "Decision of Henan University on commending excellent graduates in 2021". KAN Yunchao, Vice Chairman of HENU’s Degree Evaluation Committee, read out the "Decision of Henan University Degree Evaluation Committee on awarding Bachelor's degree to undergraduate graduates".

On the rostrum, President Chun-Peng SONG tasseled the hassle for valedictorians and awarded Bachelor's degree certificates to graduates.

YU Xuerong from School of Life Sciences, who is recommended for admission to Tsinghua University, gave a speech as a valedictorian. He recounted all his memorable experiences in the four years, including participating in the National Life Science Competition and the summer camp of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 2018. WANG Bohan, a student representative from School of Journalism and Communication, expressed his best wishes to the graduating students.

CHENG Minsheng, Director of the Institute of Song Dynasty Studies, gave a wonderful speech to the graduating students, enlightening them on some principals. "Respond to changes with constancy, refrain from doing some things in order to accomplish other things, and deal with the complexity of life with a simple attitude", he said, “ We shall have a sense of fear, shame, conscience, bravely assume social responsibility, and become a more independent thinker".

WANG Zhiguo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Chinese Language and Literature, hoped that the graduating students would always keep “Open Books Open Minds” in mind and maintain a habit of lifelong learning.

SU Yunlong, a counselor of Eurasia International College, hoped that the graduating students could make their own way in the future.

At the end of the ceremony, LU Keping, Secretary of the Party committee of HENU encouraged the graduating students to adhere to lifelong learning and insist in seeking truth; to enhance native land emotion and build a solid foundation of belief; to cultivate moral sentiment and sound personality; and to promote the unity of theory and practice and advocate hardwork and responsibility.

The ceremony ended with the school anthem.
