From April 25th to 26th, “the 2021 Academic Forum on Light Signaling and Efficient Utilization of Light Energy in Plants” was held in HENU. This forum aims to promote the exchange and cooperation in the research field of plant light signal and efficient utilization of light energy, improve the research level of plant photobiology, and further expand the influence of HENU in the field of plant photobiology.  Nearly 130 people attended the forum, including well-known experts from universities and research institutions in China engaged in light signal and photosynthesis, teachers and graduate students from School of Life Sciences, the State Key Laboratory of Cotton Biology (HENU) and the State Key Laboratory of Crop Stress Adaptation and Improvement.

Xingwang Deng, a member of the American Academy of Sciences, director of the academic committee of the School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences of Peking University, made a report entitled "Light Regulation of Plant Growth and Development". Rongcheng Lin, a researcher of Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Congming Lu, a professor of Shandong Agricultural University, Jigang Li, a professor of China Agricultural University, Haodong Chen  a professor of Tsinghua University, Shangwei Zhong, a professor of Peking University, Huiyong Zhang, a professor of Henan Agricultural University, made wonderful academic reports. Qiang Wang, Xiaodong Xu, Xiumei Xu and Xiang  Zhao, professors of the State Key Laboratory of Crop Stress Adaptation and Improvement, presented their latest research results.

During the forum, Chun-Peng Song, President of HENU, met with Academician Deng and other participants. Song expressed his gratitude to Academician Deng and other experts for their long-term support to the development and talent cultivation of the discipline of biology of HENU. This forum is part of a series of academic exchange activities to celebrate the 110th anniversary of HENU. It will definitely promote the scientific research and talent cultivation in the field of plant light signal and efficient utilization of light energy.
