Huawei Developer Conference, HDC.Cloud (Henan University Sub-venue), kicked off in HENU on April 25th. HDC.cloud(HENU) was hosted by Henan Provincial Department of Education and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and undertaken by HENU and the Central Plains Kunpeng Ecological Innovation Center. Xiaoqian Zhang, deputy director of the Higher Education Division of the Henan Provincial Department of Education, Shaokang Xu, vice president of HENU, Xiaoqian Zhang, deputy general manager of Huanghe Technology Group, Guanghui Zhang, general manager of Huawei Henan Cloud and Computing Co.,Ltd, Xiangdong Zhang, director of the Academic Affairs Office of HENU, Party Secretary Huimin Shang and Dean Xin He for School of Software. Also members of the Kunpeng Education Steering Committee, leaders of 25 Kunpeng industrial colleges and more than 370 representatives of teachers and students from School of Software, attended the conference.

In her opening speech, Xiaoqian Zhang expressed warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the experts and guests attending the conference. She hoped that all universities could take the initiative and actively promote the implementation of Kunpeng talent training. She said, “First, we need to strengthen coordination and planning, fully understand the importance of Kunpeng talent cultivation, adhere to the concept of New Engineering Disciplines as the guide to integrate resources inside and outside HENU to build a long-term mechanism of school-enterprise cooperation. Second, innovate talent training mode. We will improve the multi-subject collaborative education mechanism, jointly formulate talent training programs, develop courses and textbooks, build multi-functional practice platforms, build industry-university-research collaborative platforms, carry out the evaluation of students' academic ability and comprehensively strengthen the cultivation of students' practice and innovation ability. Third, improve the quality of personnel training. We should strengthen the construction of the quality standard system for personnel training, perfect the teaching quality monitoring system, improve the assessment and evaluation of teachers, increase the proportion of double-qualified teachers, promote the connection between personnel training and industrial needs, and achieve high-quality employment for students.”

Shaokang Xu briefly introduced the history of HENU and the basic situation of the School of Software. He pointed out that, information technology has already been fully integrated into all areas of the economy and society, and the development of the information technology industry has been elevated to a strategic height related to the national economy and people's livelihood. As the world's leading provider of infrastructure and smart terminals, Huawei has already cooperated with HENU to jointly build the Kunpeng Industry & Innovation College, and cultivate high-quality software R&D talents with independent innovation capabilities in Kunpeng ecology. This HDC.cloud is the flagship event of Huawei and a grand event for global developers in the field of information and communication. It is hoped that this event can promote the technical exchanges between Huawei and universities in Henan, getting more people to know and become familiar with cutting-edge information technology, so as to make contributions to the further development of information industry in Henan Province.

In his speech, Xiaojun Zhang briefly introduced the background and main business scope of the establishment of Huanghe Technology Group Innovation Co., Ltd., and the outstanding achievements of the Central Plains Kunpeng Ecological Innovation Center in talent training and school-enterprise cooperation in recently years. He also said that they will continue to promote the training of Kunpeng talents in the later period, add new vitality to the release of the kinetic energy of the digital engine, and cultivate more and better developers for Henan Province. Zhang affirmed the rapid development of Kunpeng industry in Henan Province, and pointed out that in the digital age, developers are the tide of the times, the force to changes the world, the driving force of enterprise innovation and the soul of the industry.

It is reported that HDC.Cloud is Huawei’s annual flagship event for global developers in the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) field. The purpose of the conference is to build a global platform for the exchange and practice, and to open up Huawei’s 30 years of accumulated ICT technology and capabilities. Huawei uses the "Kunpeng + Ascend" hard-core dual engine to provide developers with surging power to change the world and make the impossible possible.
