From October 24thto 25th, HENU held the3rdannual meeting of the Chinese Classics Bilinguals’ Association of the Chinese Pre-Qin History Society, and the awarding ceremony of the2nd“CC Cup” International Chinese Culture Translation Contest.
On the morning of the 24th, the opening ceremony was held at Bianliang Xiaosongcheng Opera House, Kaifeng. LiuZhijun, vice president of HENU, delivered a speech. Hestressedthat the previous2conferences have achievedprofoundacademic influence and demonstration effects, and we werehonored to host the3rdannual conference. He believedthat this conference will be able to spread Chinese excellent culture to the world. Also, he hoped that experts and scholarswouldput forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the discipline construction ofHENU.
JinBaoping, deputy director of the Moral Department of the Ministry of Education of China, and other leaders and scholars delivered speeches. They explained from the perspective of translation and Chinese studies thattheconference is of great significance for Chinese culture going outside, and wished the conference a complete success.
This conference set up a total of 15 keynote speeches and4parallel sessions. More than 80 experts and scholars from various universities and associations across the country gave talks on the topics of Chinese classics bilingual studies and the Yellow River culture, translation of Chinese classics, and overseas communication.
On the afternoon of the 25th, the closing ceremony and awarding ceremonywas held in theGrandAuditorium of MinglunCampus. LiuLi, President ofthe Chinese Classics Bilinguals’ Association of the Chinese Pre-Qin History Societyand President of Beijing Language and Culture University, delivered a closing speech. He congratulated the successful holding of the conference, and expressed heartfelt thanks totheorganizers, co-organizers, staff and volunteers whoevercontributed to the conference.
