At the invitation of the School of Foreign Languages, Svetlana Vasilievna Ilyasova, professor, doctoral supervisor and former Head of the Department of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language, Southern Federal University of Russia, gave two academic lectures at the Tencent Conference on September 28 and 29. All the Russian majors of the School of Foreign Languages attended the lecture together. Teachers of the Russian Department of the School of Foreign Languages, Wang Zhijian, Zhang Hong, Zhou Ruimin, Sun Xuesen, Wang Yanbing (also the host), also listened to the lecture in their busy schedule, together to learn the frontiers of the subject.

Ilyasova stated the expression ways of Russian mass media and the changes of the mass media language in modern times, and also analyzed the reasons for the changes. By introducing some new Russian words and their meanings, Ilyasova explained to the participants why those words came into being and how they were formed, as well as the types of new vocabulary dictionaries. Wonderful presentation and vivid examples gave teachers and students a deep understanding of the emergence of new Russian words and the introduction of foreign words.
