On July 30, Henan University (HENU) and Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) signed a strategic cooperation agreement, with the signing ceremony held in Beijing. Wang Daquan, Director of the CSCSE, Academician Zhang Suojiang, President of HENU, and Zhang Xiangdong, Vice President of HENU, attended the ceremony.

Wang Daquan extended a warm welcome to President Zhang Suojiang and his delegation, and introduced the development and core functions of the CSCSE. He pointed out that the CSCSE, with the mission of serving the national strategy for opening up education to the outside world, strives to build an overseas study service system and foster the “Study in China” brand. As a “Double First-Class” university, HENU boasts advantages, characteristics and development potential in international education. The CSCSE will give full play to its strengths, closely align with regional and institutional development needs, and strengthen comprehensive strategic cooperation with HENU.

On behalf of HENU, Zhang Suojiang expressed gratitude for the long-term support from the CSCSE, and introduced HENU’s educational history, development plans and achievements in building a world-class university. He noted that HENU has taken internationalization as a core development strategy, and persisted in providing sustained guarantees in terms of policies, space and funds. In recent years, HENU has continuously deepened cooperation with world-class universities, advanced the quality and efficiency of Sino-foreign cooperative education, and achieved remarkable improvement in international competitiveness and influence. Recognizing CSCSE as a pivotal leader in advancing China’s educational opening-up strategy, he proposed deeper cooperation in the attraction of overseas high-level talent, the facilitation of international exchanges for faculty and students, and the promotion of global research collaboration, thus contributing HENU’s strength to building China into an education powerhouse.

The signing of this agreement marks the official commencement of a new phase in bilateral cooperation. Looking ahead, both parties will strengthen coordination to elevate HENU’s international cooperation and exchanges to higher standards, deeper extent, and broader dimensions. This collaboration will support HENU in advancing its “Double First-Class” initiative and in its role as one of Henan’s “Top Two Universities”. It will also generate new and greater contributions to higher education in Henan Province and the nation.
