On the afternoon of October 23rd, a delegation from Aston University in the UK, led by Vice-Chancellor Osama Khan, visited HENU. Vice President Zhang Ligang and Academic Vice President Fu Shenglei met with the guests and engaged in in-depth discussions on issues such as cooperative education, teaching and research, and training programs. Heads of the International Affairs Office, the Financial Office, and other relevant units attended the meeting, which was presided over by Li Qiuye, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office.
In the first phase of the meeting, Zhang Ligang extended a warm welcome to Osama Khan and his delegation and introduced the basic situation of HENU. The University, being one of the first batch of institutions selected for the national “Double First-Class” initiative and a preparatory school for students planning to study in Europe and America, will see its internationalization level continuously enhanced through this collaboration with Aston University. Fu Shenglei expressed gratitude for the hospitality received during his last visit to Aston University and provided an update on the progress of the collaborative programs.
Vice-Chancellor Osama Khan gave a detailed introduction to the history and educational operations of Aston University, affirmed the advantages of HENU in the partnership, and clearly expressed full support for the cooperation between the two sides. Following this, gifts were exchanged, and a group photo was taken to commemorate the occasion.
In the second phase of the meeting, faculty members from HENU engaged in detailed discussions with the delegation from Aston University regarding curriculum settings and specific teaching plans.
Both parties will take this meeting as an opportunity to further deepen communication in areas such as cooperative education, student and faculty exchanges, and scientific research collaboration. They aim to carry out more extensive cooperation, enhance the level of international education, and promote high-quality development of the universities.
