From July 24 to 25, the 2023 Scientia Sinica Mathematica Plenary Editorial Committee Meeting & Mathematics Frontiers and Prospects Forum on Scientia Sinica Mathematica was held in Kaifeng, Henan. The conference was sponsored by the Academic and Publishing Working Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the editorial board of Scientia Sinica Mathematica, and organized by the Science China Press and Henan University.
On the morning of July 24, the opening ceremony was held. It was attended by Nanhua Xi, Director of the Academic Committee of Scientia Sinica Mathematica and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xiangdong Ye, Song Jiang, Pingwen Zhang, members of the Academic Committee and academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhiqiang Chen, Deputy Director of Science and Technology Department of Henan Province, Keping Lu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Henan University, Shuxia Feng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and more than 80 experts and scholars. The ceremony was presided over by Academician Nanhua Xi and addressed by Academician Pingwen Zhang, Professor Guiqiang Chen, Zhiqiang Chen, and Keping Lu respectively.
At the Forum, Gang Liu, professor of East China Normal University, Qi Lv, professor of Sichuan University, Ye Tian and Weizhe Zheng, researchers of the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, made reports respectively and conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the reports with participating experts.
Academician Nanhua Xi reviewed the publication of Chinese and English versions of Scientia Sinica Mathematica in 2022, the progress of key work and work highlights, summarized the deficiencies and problems they encountered last year, and proposed the next development plan. Afterward, all members of the editorial board had a focused discussion on how to improve the academic quality and international influence of Scientia Sinica Mathematica.
Weiping Zhang, Song Jiang, Nanhua Xi, and Guiqiang Chen presided over the editorial committee conferences on Geometry, Computational Optimization, Algebra, and Analysis. At the conferences, experts summarized the progress of the disciplines and conducted an in-depth analysis and discussion on the characteristics of disciplines and the current problems and difficulties of the journal. Members spoke actively and provided many valuable, constructive opinions for the development of the journal.
