On June 16 and 17, the Frontier Academic Exchange Event for International Young Scholars was held in Kaifeng, Henan. On the morning of June 16, the opening ceremony was held, which was attended by more than 200 people, including leaders from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Department of Education of Henan Province, the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Henan Province, previous postdoctoral international exchange program winners from domestic and foreign universities and scientific research institutions, experts in related disciplines, representatives of postdoctoral work managers, leaders of Henan University (HENU) and heads of relevant functional departments and colleges.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Keping Lu, secretary of the Party Committee of HENU. At the ceremony, Suojiang Zhang, president of HENU, delivered a welcome speech. He said that the University was focusing on building a group of outstanding young teachers. It is hoped that this event could stimulate the innovation vitality of young scientific and technological talents. Finally, he issued a sincere invitation to outstanding talents at home and abroad, wishing more outstanding talents to join HENU and show their talents.

Later, Chuan’guang Zhang, deputy director of the Department of Education of Henan Province, Yaowu Yu, Level Ⅱ inspector of the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Henan Province, and Xiao Wang, deputy director of the Overseas Students and Expert Service Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, delivered speeches to express warm congratulations on the event.

The event included invited talks, sub-theme seminars, exhibition and exchange for achievements of teaching and scientific research.

The invited talks were chaired by Shaokang Xu, vice president of HENU. Yage Zhang, deputy director of the Talent and Personnel Department, introduced the talent and personnel policy of the University. Wei Wang, Yuejin Liu, Yansui Liu and Weigang Xu, Distinguished Professors of HENU, made reports on the theme of “Scientific and Technological Development and Human Civilization”, and discussed cutting-edge issues in the fields of archaeology, history, geography and biology.

Sub-theme seminars were held in the afternoon. At those seminars, experts and scholars exchanged views on “life and health”, “environment, ecology and Chinese-style modernization”, and “dual carbon strategy and green chemical process under energy revolution”, fully discussing the scientific and technological development and human civilization in the new era.
