From October 8th to 9th, Henan University welcomed the freshmen in 2021. From October 10th to 11th, more than 700 freshmen registered in Zhengzhou Campus of Henan University. More than 9,000 freshmen of 2021 nationwide came together to embark on a new journey on pursuit of dreams.

During this period, the University’s leaders including LU Keping, TAN Zhen, ZHANG Baoming, and YANG Zhonghua visited the Jinming Campus and Minglun Campus respectively to extend welcome to the newcomers.

Before the school opened, the University had specially established a steering group for welcoming freshmen of 2021 and formulated a detailed plan for freshmen’s arrangements. On August 31 and September 10, The university management held two meetings to discuss the issues related to the formation of the steering group and the job of welcoming freshman students.

During the summer vacation, the logistics department of the University improved the infrastructure of Minglun Campus and Jinming Campus. They renovated the Zhongxin Canteen of Minglun campus and Beiyuan Restaurant of Jinming campus, upgraded the facilities of drinking water and shower in the student apartments, and installed air-conditioners for each dormitory.

Facing the pandemic, the procedures of freshman check-in were carried out in strict accordance with the requirements for pandemic prevention and control. Guided by volunteers, the freshmen went throught such procedures as baggage sterilization and health code verification, submitted files, collected campus cards, and completed other registration procedures in an orderly manner. The logistics group headquarters and the school hospital made overall arrangements for the accommodation and physical examinations for freshmen. The University also set up pick-up sites at Kaifeng Railway Station, Kaifeng North Station, Kaifeng Coach Station, and Kaifeng West Coach Station to take freshmen to the campus.

The registration of the 2021 freshmen in Jinming Campus and Minglun Campus of Henan University basically came to an end in the afternoon of October 9th. FENG Shuxia, the Vice President, went to some apartments on Jinming Campus to visit the freshmen and guide them to adapt to the school environment.

The arrival of the 2021 freshmen has injected a new life into this century-old university. With firm pursuits and burning passion, students will have a colorful school life and gain a bright future in Henan University.
