The Inaugural Meeting of the Henan Law Society Network and Information Law Research Association and the First Academic Annual Meeting was held in Zhengzhou on October 9th. It was hosted by Henan Law Society, and was organized by Henan University, Henan Broadcasting System, and Henan Golden Shield Information Security Technology Evaluation Center Co., Ltd. 

More than 200 people attended the meeting, including the Executive Deputy Chairman SHEN Qinghuai, the Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General LEI Zhongwang, the Vice President of Henan University SUN Junjian, and LIANG Hong, the Chairman of Henan Golden Shield Information Security Technology Evaluation Center Co., Ltd., as well as experts and scholars from major universities in Henan, mainstream media, political and legal agencies, functional departments related to Party committees and government, cyber security and digital industry technology circles, and lawyers systems.

The meeting had three parts, namely the Inaugural Meeting of the Research Association, the Inaugural Meeting of the Party Branch of the Research Association and the First Academic Annual Meeting.

At the conference, SUN Junjian was elected as the Chairman of the Henan Law Society Network and Information Law Research Association, the Dean CAI Jun and the Deputy Dean YUE Hongqiang from the Law School of Henan University were elected as the Vice Chairmen, and many teachers from Henan University were elected as executive directors and directors. SHEN Qinghuai emphasized that the establishment of the Research Association marks a major milestone for Henan’s Internet and information industry in moving toward the path of the rule of law. It would promote Henan’s network and information law research, ensuring the healthy development of the network and information industry. Subsequently, SHEN Qinghuai and SUN Junjian jointly unveiled the plaque of the Association.

At the First Annual Academic Meeting, SHEN Changxiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Building a New Safe and Trustworthy Ecosystem of Rule of Law for Digital Government Affairs”. Professor LIU Deliang from Beijing Normal University delivered a keynote speech entitled “Legal Issues in the Internet Age”. Four college teachers, including LI Yanshun, the associate professor of Law School of Henan University, gave keynote speeches.

The Law School of Henan University, as the supporting unit of the Research Association, would commit itself to political science studies, academic research and relationship-building in the legal profession. It would play a decision-making and advisory role for economic construction, legal construction and data security, helping accelerate the high-quality development of Henan in the new era.
