President Jörg Bagdahn of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Germany) Leads Delegation on Visit to HENU

On October 14, a delegation led by President Jörg Bagdahn and Vice President Lothar Koppers of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Germany, visited Henan University (HENU). ZHANG Suojiang, President of HENU, and BAI Ying, Vice President of HENU, met with the delegation at HENU’s Longzihu Campus in Zhengzhou. The meeting was attended by heads of relevant units including the International Affairs Office, the Advanced Institute of Finance, and the International School of Technology. The meeting was presided over by LI Qiuye, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office.

ZHANG Suojiang extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He emphasized that, within the framework of HENU’s “Double First-Class” initiative, HENU has prioritized internationalization as a core development strategy and continues to strengthen cooperation with leading overseas institutions. He expressed hope that both universities would build upon their existing partnership to expand collaboration in new energy and materials, smart economy and trade, and other fields, while exploring innovative models and pathways for cooperation. By leveraging their respective resources, the two sides aim to jointly enhance talent cultivation and scientific research innovation.

Jörg Bagdahn provided an overview of recent achievements at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences. He conveyed the strong eagerness of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences to advance joint research and innovate talent development models with HENU, a partnership that fosters mutual progress and development.


During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on improving the quality of student training, developing high-quality curriculum systems, and optimizing collaboration mechanisms.


As part of their visit, the delegation also held talks with faculty representatives and leaders from HENU’s Advanced Institute of Finance, International School of Technology, and School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, reaching consensus on cooperation in multiple fields.


Since initiating their educational partnership in 2005, HENU and Anhalt University of Applied Sciences have established a solid and extensive collaborative foundation. Beyond reviewing previous achievements, this meeting established a new framework for enhanced future cooperation and the development of talent with international expertise.
