
On September 26, a seven-member delegation led by Rob Strathdee, Vice Chancellor of Victoria University, Australia, visited Henan University (HENU). The two institutions convened their annual Joint Management Committee meeting at HENU’s Longzihu Campus in Zhengzhou. BAI Ying, Vice President of HENU, attended the meeting alongside heads of relevant units including the International Affairs Office, the Financial Office, and the Advanced Institute of Finance.
BAI Ying extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Victoria University. She highlighted HENU’s recent developmental achievements and affirmed the effectiveness of the collaborative programs between the two universities. She noted that HENU is accelerating its pace in building a top-tier research-intensive, comprehensive, and internationally oriented university, and expressed hope for promoting faculty and student exchanges across more disciplinary fields to further broaden and deepen the collaboration.
Rob Strathdee commended HENU’s developmental accomplishments. He provided an overview of the latest progress at Victoria University and acknowledged the consistently improving quality of students in the joint programs, thanking HENU for its strong support and dedication. He expressed Victoria University’s commitment to further strengthening the partnership and expanding the scope of collaboration.
During the meeting, both sides provided updates on key annual tasks, enrollment quality, teaching practices, and student performance within the joint programs.
That afternoon, the two universities also held a Joint Operating Team meeting, where they discussed details regarding curriculum resources and teaching implementation.
Since initiating their collaboration in 2003, HENU and Victoria University have progressively established a multidisciplinary, high-level cooperative framework. This meeting not only systematically reviewed past collaborative outcomes but also provided solid foundation for further expanding cooperation and enhancing the cultivation of internationally competent talent.
