On the morning of April 11, a delegation of four from the University of Greenwich (UoG), UK, led by Vice-Chancellor Jane Harrington, visited Henan University (HENU). Vice President Zhang Ligang, together with representatives from the International Affairs Office and the School of International Education, met with the delegation at the Longzihu Campus in Zhengzhou. The meeting was chaired by Li Qiuye, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office.

First, Zhang Ligang extended a warm welcome to Vice-Chancellor Jane Harrington and her delegation. He reviewed HENU’s history and international achievements, emphasizing that this collaboration would inject new vitality into both universities and further contribute to educational exchanges and friendships between China and the UK.

Jane Harrington expressed gratitude to HENU and introduced the history and development of UoG. She highlighted UoG's excellent teaching quality, research capabilities, and global vision, expressing hope to work together to leverage their respective disciplinary strengths and explore new models of talent training.

During the meeting, the two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on student exchanges and cooperative programs.

Subsequently, witnessed by representatives from both sides, Zhang Ligang and Jane Harrington signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of their respective institutions. Moving forward, HENU and UoG will use this agreement as a foundation to advance cooperation and contribute to cultural and people-to-people exchanges and technological innovations between the two countries.

The University of Greenwich, located in London, was founded in 1890 as the UK's second polytechnic. Today, it is a renowned modern comprehensive university with strengths in engineering, business, environmental science, and other fields. It comprises four faculties and hosts over 30,000 students.
