Recently, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) announced the results for the 2025 “International Cooperative Training Programs for Innovative Talents”. The “Innovative International Talent Training Program for First-Class Biology Disciplines”, organized by HENU’s International Affairs Office and submitted by the School of Life Sciences, has been approved, with the implementation period set for 2025-2027. According to the program, the CSC will annually fund five individuals from HENU to study at Rice University (USA), the University of Tehran (Iran), and Macquarie University (Australia). This includes three joint-training doctoral students, one visiting scholar, and one postdoctoral researcher per year, with the selected disciplines being biology and ecology.
To date, HENU has secured four CSC talent training programs, enabling the independent selection and full funding of 29 faculty members and students annually to study at institutions such as Rice University (USA), Macquarie University (Australia), and the University of Lorraine (France). The selected disciplines cover biology, ecology, chemistry, and more, with training types including master’s and doctoral degree programs, as well as visiting scholars.
The International Cooperative Training Programs for Innovative Talents is part of the CSC’s independent talent training initiatives. It aims to further promote the cultivation of innovative international talents and foundational discipline experts through global collaboration. The program operates under the “approval preceding selection” model. Each year, candidates are recommended based on the approved program and eligibility criteria, with the CSC making the final selections before participants are dispatched.
