




On November 4th, a collaborative exchange meeting between Henan University (HENU) and the Universidad Europea de Madrid (UEM) was held in Room 208 of the administrative building at the Jinming Campus. Zhang Ligang, Vice President of HENU, Maria Luisa Saenz, the Executive Dean of the Real Madrid Graduate School, and Beatriz Martinez Pascual, Director of International Relations of the UEM, attended the meeting along with representatives from HENU’s International Affairs Office and the School of Physical Education and Sport, as well as relevant person in charge of UEM.
Zhang Ligang briefly introduced HENU’s history, academic disciplines and distinctive training features, and reviewed the history of collaboration between the two institutions. He stated that sports play a crucial role in improving public health, fulfilling people’s aspirations for a better life and promoting holistic development. Additionally, sports also drive economic and social progress, and showcase national cultural soft power. Given the UEM’s strong advantages in physical education and its notable teaching and research achievements, he expressed his hope that this meeting would serve as an opportunity to further explore cooperation models and details in physical education and related interdisciplinary fields, thereby providing more exchange opportunities for faculty and students of both universities and contributing to higher education exchange between China and Spain.
Maria Luisa Saenz expressed her heartfelt gratitude to HENU and provided a detailed introduction to the operations of the Real Madrid Graduate School. Beatriz Martinez Pascual outlined the basic situation of the UEM. They both expressed hopes for future collaborations that leverage each institution’s strengths, enhance faculty and student exchanges, explore new cooperative opportunities, and deepen the partnership between the two universities.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the specifics of collaboration.
