On October 29th, an exchange meeting between Henan University (HENU) and the Southern Federal University (SFedU) was held in Room 208 of the administrative building at the Jinming Campus. Zhang Ligang, Vice President of HENU, and Maxim Bondarev, Vice-Rector of SFedU, attended the meeting along with heads from HENU’s International Affairs Office, the Eurasia International School, and other relevant departments.

Zhang Ligang briefly introduced the history, academic disciplines and distinctive training features of HENU. He reviewed the friendly cooperation between the two universities in recent years and affirmed the achievements made in joint training programs, bilingual course development, and faculty and student exchanges. He stated that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, expressing hopes that both institutions would use this occasion to further deepen cooperation, fully share their strengths and jointly cultivate international talent in various fields, thereby supporting the internationalization efforts of both institutions.

Maxim Bondarev highly praised the students from HENU studying at the SFedU. He outlined the SFedU’s recent developments in professional construction, academic exchanges, and integration of industry, education and research. Additionally, he expressed his hope that both parties could continue to combine their respective advantages to explore new opportunities for cooperation and further deepen the partnership between the two universities.

During the meeting, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on undergraduate joint training in language and arts, as well as integrated talent cultivation from undergraduate to doctoral level and postdoctoral studies. They also explored potential collaborations in the fields of science, engineering, agriculture and medicine.
