HENU hosts the7th Physics and Technology Science Popularization Exhibition


The 7th HENU Physics and Technology Science Popularization Exhibition grandly opened on June 1st at the Marco Square, Minglun Campus. Professor Yuchen Miao, Vice President of HENU, along with representatives from relevant departments, faculty members, and students attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Hanbing Liu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physics and Electronics.


In his opening speech, Professor Yuchen Miao emphasized the crucial role of science popularization in enhancing scientific literacy among the public and fostering a new generation of talented individuals in science and technology. He underscored that science and technology are the primary productive forces, and nurturing the scientific spirit and disseminating scientific thought are intrinsically linked to the advancement of science popularization initiatives. Professor Miao commended the School of Physics and Electronics for its dedication to promoting the scientific spirit and popularizing scientific knowledge. He acknowledged their remarkable achievements in actively carrying out science popularization work alongside their commitment to scientific and technological innovation.


Yuchen Miao highlighted that 2024 marks the year of innovation and development for HENU. He encouraged the School to wholeheartedly embrace the new HENU spirit of “Confidence, Striving, Openness, and Innovation”, while seizing the strategic opportunities presented by the “Double First-Class” and “Dual Flagship” initiatives. He urged them to drive fundamental transformations in seven key areas, including talent acquisition and funding structures, to accelerate the enhancement of discipline construction and achieve high-quality development of the School.


Yizhi Shao, a physics major from the class of 2021, shared her journey in physics learning at the opening ceremony.


Following the ceremony, Yuchen Miao and other attendees toured the science popularization exhibition, experiencing the allure of exhibits like digital circuits and spatial vision. The exhibition attracted hundreds of teachers, students, and children from the university and beyond. Guided by enthusiastic staff members, attendees actively participated in various engaging and interactive games, delving into the fascinating world of digital circuits through lively discussions.


Coinciding with International Children’s Day, the event featured a special session of educational and entertaining games, as well as science demonstrations, which attracted numerous children. These engaging activities fostered a sense of teamwork between parents and children, allowing the young participants to experience the wonders of physics through playful exploration.


Themed “Digital Interweaving, Logic World”, this year’s Physics and Technology Science Popularization Exhibition featured multiple exhibition areas dedicated to science popularization, interactive games, and a prize redemption platform. Through informative displays and engaging games, the exhibition showcased the logic and applications of digital circuits to teachers and students. It aimed to ignite students’ interest and passion for science, fostering the scientific literacy and innovative capabilities of young minds.
