On the afternoon of May 10th, President Hajalalaina Aimé Richard of the University of Fianarantsoa, Madagascar, led a delegation on a visit to Henan University (HENU). Vice President Shenglei Fu received the guests at the Jinming Campus. Representatives from relevant departments, including the International Affairs Office and the International School for Chinese Language and Culture, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Jianzhong Liang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the International School for Chinese Language and Culture.
Shenglei Fu introduced HENU, highlighting its history, development, and emphasis on internationalization. He expressed hope for collaboration between the two universities in their respective areas of strength, promoting educational advancement in both China and Madagascar.
Hajalalaina Aimé Richard then provided an overview of the University of Fianarantsoa, detailing its development and distinctive educational features. He emphasized the university’s esteemed reputation within Madagascar and expressed a desire to enhance its research capabilities and talent cultivation through collaboration.
Representatives from both institutions engaged in in-depth discussions regarding student exchange programs, faculty visits, and the potential establishment of a Confucius Institute at the University of Fianarantsoa. Both sides agreed to strengthen communication and work towards fruitful outcomes in their collaborative endeavors.
The meeting concluded successfully with the signing of a memorandum of understanding by Shenglei Fu and Hajalalaina Aimé Richard.
