On the morning of March 30th, Henan University (HENU) held a Psychology Discipline Development Seminar and the inauguration ceremony for the Frontier Science Center for Brain and Mental Health at Conference Room 305 in the Youlan Academy, Zhengzhou Campus. Present at the event were Professor Ligang Zhang, Vice President of Henan University, Professor Guoxiang Zhao, former President of the Chinese Psychological Society, Professor Meiyun Wang, Vice President of Henan Provincial People's Hospital, and Professor Yongxin Li, Executive Vice Minister of the Faculty of Education and Dean of the School of Psychology of Henan University. Numerous renowned experts and scholars from various universities were also invited, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the Institute of Psychology, CAS, Fudan University, and Zhejiang University.
Ligang Zhang expressed his hope that the establishment of the Frontier Science Center for Brain and Mental Health would serve to vigorously promote basic research and social service work in mental health, foster the cultivation of mental health professionals and enhance scientific research in the region, and lead the development of the discipline.
Yongxin Li provided a detailed introduction to the history, current state, research directions, and development challenges of the discipline of HENU. He also elaborated on the functional positioning and development characteristics of the Center.
At the appointment ceremony, Meiyun Wang was appointed as the Director of the Center, with Ligang Zhang presenting the letter of appointment to her.
Subsequently, Meiyun Wang delivered an academic report introducing the important applications of individualized functional imaging in mental health research.
The experts presented provided constructive suggestions on the future development and research directions of Henan University's psychology discipline and the Frontier Science Center for Brain and Mental Health.
