On January 13, the Medical & Engineering Interdisciplinary Integration Innovation Forum was held at Henan University (HENU). The Forum was attended by Professor Guoying Cao, former deputy director of the Department of Resource Allocation and Management of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Professor Hong Zheng, president of the China Health Culture Association; Professor Dongxiao Liu, president of the Henan Alumni Association of Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Professor Deping Wang, former director of the Bioscience and Frontier Technology Department of the China National Center for Biotechnology Development of the Ministry of Science and Technology; and Professor Bo Ji, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of HENU. The Forum also invited 21 well-known experts from the international medical and engineering interdiscipline, representatives from the Henan Alumni Association of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as well as more than 300 teachers and students of HENU. The opening ceremony of the Forum was hosted by Daxiang Cui, dean of Henan Medical School.
At the opening ceremony, Bo Ji pointed out that HENU always sees interdisciplinary subjects as a focus and continues to support the cross-integration and complementary advantages between applied disciplines and the Henan Medical School (Department). He indicated that through nearly two years of construction, Henan Medical School has gradually formed a multi-disciplinary interdisciplinary mechanism and achieved fruitful results in all aspects. He hoped that the Forum would help create a new situation in the construction of the “Double First-Class” and “Dual Aircraft Carriers” initiatives of HENU!
Dongxiao Liu said that the Henan Alumni Association of Shanghai Jiao Tong University has given full play to its role as a link and bridge to integrate alumni strength, build a platform for exchanges and mutual assistance, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between SJTU and HENU in scientific research and development, achievement transformation, and industry incubation around the field of medical cross-innovation to assist HENU in its innovative development in the field of cross-integration of medicine and engineering.
Professor Hong Zheng said that the China Health Culture Association will bring together human resources, social resources, and medical resources to promote China’s health construction and help develop the biomedical industry.
This Forum was supported by many experts and scholars. The experts shared their research results and practical experience in cross-integration innovation of medicine and engineering, promoting exchanges between clinical medicine, medical engineering, and medical science. That provides solutions to practical clinical problems, establishing major scientific research projects, and the transformation and application of important results.
