From September 22 to 26, the 22nd Chinese National Conference on Light Scattering was held in Kaifeng, Henan. The Conference attracted more than 500 experts and scholars from colleges and universities, scientific research institutes and related enterprises and institutions across China. The Conference invited Professor Jianlin Yao, director of the Light Scattering Special Committee of the Chinese Physical Society and vice president of Suzhou University, Professor Xuelu Wang, vice presidents of HENU, and Professor Yujun Mo from HENU, to attend the opening ceremony and deliver speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Yanli Mao of HENU, chairman of the Organizing Committee.

At the Conference, Xuelu Wang introduced the general situation of HENU and the current scientific research results of the School of Physics and Electronics. He said that this Conference would further promote and activate research work in light scattering and cross-field fields in China so as to inject new vitality into the development of light scattering and spectroscopy in China.

Jianlin Yao pointed out that in the era of rapid technological development, the application of light scattering was becoming more and more extensive. He hoped that the participants could listen to the reports of experts attentively, share their research results, and explore innovative ideas at this Conference.

Yujun Mo expressed his expectations for China’s development of light scattering and spectroscopy. He encouraged guests to keep their passion and patience for scientific research so as to achieve ideal results.

The Conference received a total of more than 280 paper submissions from more than 80 universities and research institutes in China. The Conference covered several aspects including physical materials, SERS/TERS, biomedicines.
