On the morning of September 16, 2023, the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Mathematics Discipline of Henan University & the Innovation and Development Conference was held in the auditorium of Minglun Campus.

The Conference was attended by Academician Boling Guo from the Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics, Academician Weiping Zhang from Nankai University, Academician Xiangyu Zhou from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician Jiping Zhang from Peking University, as well as representatives, experts and scholars from Chinese University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University, University of California (Los Angeles), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangzhou University, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Capital Normal University, South China University of Technology, Tianjin University, Central China Normal University, Henan Finance University, and Xinyang Normal University. The Conference also invited Keping Lu, Secretary of the Party Committee of HENU, Zhen Tan, Junjian Sun and Daxiang Cui, Vice Presidents of HENU, Shuxia Feng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of HENU, former Vice Presidents Jishan Tian and Zhonghua Yang, Zhenhai Zhao, former Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of HENU, heads of relevant functional departments and colleges, as well as teacher representatives, student representatives, and alumni representatives to attend, a total of more than 1,400 people. The Conference was chaired by Zhiwei Cao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Mathematics and Statistics.

At the Conference, Keping Lu pointed out that the School of Mathematics and Statistics, which was developed from the discipline of mathematics, has cultivated a great number of outstanding talents. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary, he hoped that the students would have great ambitions, work firmly to realize their ideals and develop themselves morally, intellectually, and physically. He wished that the mathematics discipline of HENU would have a better future.

Dean Xiaosen Han made a report on the centenary development of the mathematics discipline. Later, Academician Xiangwan Du, Academician Boling Guo, Academician Weiping Zhang, Academician Xiangyu Zhou, and Academician Jiping Zhang delivered speeches successively. They expressed that over the past century, the School of Mathematics of HENU has formed a rigorous scientific spirit, accumulated a profound academic foundation, and cultivated a large number of mathematical talents for China. They confirmed that the School has made important contributions to the development of China. They also expressed sincere congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the School of Mathematics and Statistics and wished that the School would cultivate more talents for China in the future.

Zhouping Xin expressed congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the mathematics discipline of HENU on behalf of overseas scholars. On behalf of the Department of Mathematical Sciences of Tsinghua University, Wenming Zou expressed warm congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the mathematics discipline of HENU. Alumni representatives Yisong Yang, Zhijun Wang, and Xiaomeng Xu spoke respectively. They looked back on their university life and truly expressed their praise and gratitude to their alma mater. They believed that the mathematics of HENU would have a bright future.

Cewen Cao, the former President of Zhengzhou University, Zongzhu Lin, a professor at Kansas State University, Jie Wu, a researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research, and representatives of other 31 units expressed their congratulations through videos and congratulatory letters.
